In an interview with Senator Honeyford (R, Sunnyside) earlier this week questions regarding budget negotiations arose. He stated that the Senate is going to put the Capital budget negotiations on hold until the House can pass a Hirst fix. E2SSB 5239 passed out of the Senate in late February, the bill was later tied up in the House and never passed out of committee. It is clear that the Senate is making the Hirst fix a top priority this session and they realize how important this issue is to many landowners. Hopefully, the two sides can come together soon to create a solution that is best for property owners and voters across the state in which they represent.
